Utah RN license requirements
A researched starting point for applying to Utah Division of Professional Licensing — Board of Nursing, including education review, English rules, identification requirements, background checks, and the NCLEX sequence.
Credential evaluation
If not licensed abroad for at least one year: TruMerit CES Professional Report, TruMerit VisaScreen, or Josef Silny Visa4Nurses. With at least one year of foreign licensure, those or a listed DOPL-approved NACES evaluation may qualify.
English requirement
Utah's internationally trained pathway requires English evidence under the credentialing/application instructions. The reviewed pathway PDF should be consulted for current tests, scores and exemptions; do not substitute VisaScreen assumptions for the Utah rule.
SSN requirement
A valid SSN is required for a multistate license. Confirm DOPL's current tax-ID/SSN disclosure or no-SSN procedure for a single-state application in the live application.
Background check
Initial applicants complete DOPL-directed criminal background screening/fingerprints.
Education review
Foreign education must be substantially similar to Utah RN education. The report route differs depending on whether the applicant held foreign licensure for at least one year.

Verify before paying
