Oklahoma RN license requirements

Credential evaluation
Graduates of nursing schools outside the United States use the Board's foreign-education pathway and must have education/licensure credentials evaluated as directed in the current examination instructions; the exact report must be verified in the linked application packet before purchase.
English requirement
The Board publishes a separate 'Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools: English Language Competency' policy. Submit qualifying evidence under that policy; exemptions and minimum scores are controlled by the current policy.
SSN requirement
A valid SSN is required for a multistate license. The public applications page distinguishes single-state and multistate applications; applicants without an SSN should use the single-state instructions and confirm eligibility with the Board.
Background check
Initial applicants complete the Board-directed fingerprint criminal background check; follow the packet's timing and vendor/card instructions.
Education review
The Board reviews whether the international nursing program meets Oklahoma licensure standards. Any curriculum shortfall is a Board determination.
Application sequence
How to apply in Oklahoma
