Credential evaluation

International graduates must submit education and licensure credentials to a Board-approved evaluator. The Board identifies TruMerit/CGFNS and IEE in its foreign-nurse materials.

English requirement

If instruction was not in English, prove proficiency through TOEFL plus spoken English or a similar Board-approved examination; current instructions also identify IELTS pathways.

SSN requirement

A valid U.S. SSN is required for multistate licensure. The public foreign-nurse page reviewed does not clearly state a single-state no-SSN alternative.

Background check

Complete the criminal background/fingerprint procedure required by the Kansas examination application and NLC uniform requirements.

Education review

The approved agency evaluates education and registration credentials to establish first-level general-nurse preparation and compliance with professional registration requirements.
