Patient Access Representative/Scheduler – Sanford Cancer Center Workplace Details Join our team and see why Prairie Lakes Healthcare System continues to be named a Top Rural and Community Hospital year after year. Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is an independent, non-profit rural healthcare system serving 10 counties in northeastern South Dakota and west-central Minnesota.

Job Summary This position schedules appointments for Cancer Center patients and collects and verifies all patient demographic and financial information while adhering to ethical and legal standards and recognizing and responding to emergencies while demonstrating professional characteristics. Provides clerical support to ensure that the daily functions of the Cancer Center are carried out in an organized manner. Responsibilities include: Provides excellent customer service while greeting, welcoming patients, answering the telephone, screening, and routing calls appropriately in a courteous and prompt manner.

Registers and admits patients in EMR by obtaining relevant patient demographic and insurance information. Schedules procedures, infusions, appointments and referrals. Directs patients and visitors to the desired destination.
