Summary
The Point of Care Coordinator facilitates and coordinates Point of Care testing activities throughout the health system by training staff, maintaining procedures and developing quality control and quality assurance programs. The Coordinator evaluates and implements new Point of Care tests and instruments and ensures that Point of Care testing and processes meets all applicable regulatory standards. This position serves as a liaison between Point of Care testing sites and the laboratory.
Essential Job Functions: Facilitates and coordinates Point of Care Testing activities throughout the health system, from the initial request to initiate Point of Care testing through implementation, and provides continuous oversight and monitoring of activities. Provides technical expertise and guidance to Point of Care testing staff. Writes, monitors, and revises policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility in the Point of Care Testing program.
Ensures policies and procedures are performed as written. Develops and manages Point of Care staff training and competency assessments. Maintains documentation and records.
