Position Summary
- # Administers Physical Therapy and treatments under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. # II.
- Position Relationships: # A.
- Responsible to: Director of PM#R, and Physical Therapist # B.
- Workers Supervised: None # C.
- Interrelationships: Patients and their families, physicians and nurses, departmental and hospital personnel. # III.
- Responsibilities and Authorities: # A.
- Overall: # Responsible for treating patients using Physical Therapy procedures and techniques within recognized standards, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. # B.
- Work Performed: # Performs other duties as assigned by the department#s management staff. # As patient care and/or Hospital need dictates, both the assigned shift and work station may be changed by the department. # Participates in and promotes #The Customer# service philosophy of Greet, Value, Ask, Listen, Help, and Invite Back. # Performs essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. # Administers Physical Therapy treatment to patients. # # # Completes medical documentation in an accurate and timely manner, consistent with rules and regulations. # Supervises and delegates appropriately to Therapy Aides. # Attends hospital meetings and committee work as assigned. # Participates in rotating to necessary areas, setting will include but not limited to outpatient, wound care, rehab, acute care, and sports medicine, to provide treatment coverage to patients where needed. # IV.

Qualifications

- Education: # Currently licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Texas.
- Current BLS Certification. # C.
- Job Knowledge: # Knowledge of procedures and treatments in Physical Therapy with an emphasis on total patient care.
- Must have understanding of basic supervision. # # VI.
- Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions: # A.
- Patient lifting and transferring. # B.
- Lifting and pushing of heavy and light equipment. # C.
