Position Summary

This position is responsible for scheduling patient treatments or diagnostic#procedures. Activities include pre-registration; receiving physician orders,#insurance verification, verifying or obtaining authorizations and pre-certifications.#May distribute educational materials or provide education to patients and#families, if needed. Education: High School Graduate or equivalent required at time of hire or transfer to#the department.

Training and Experience: Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as effective human#relations and communication skills .Be proficient with commonly used office software and computers. Must be#able to maintain accurate statistical records, gather data and produce#reports. Preferred

Qualifications

  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred, including but not#limited to completion of Medical Terminology course(s). Skills and abilities# typically attained with two (2) years of medical clerical experience;#preferably in a hospital or physician office scheduling setting.
