Summary

Under supervision, the Food Service Worker performs various tasks and roles within the Food and Nutrition Department, working collaboratively as a team, supporting each other to provide the highest quality experience for our patients and guests.

Responsibilities

  • ALL T he Food Service Worker may be assigned to anywhere on campus where food is stored, prepared or served.
  • M ay assist with set up, serving and restocking of food from counters and steamtables.
  • M ay be responsible for stocking items such as baked goods, snacks and beverages for sale.
  • I nteracts with guests in the serving, retail and dining areas in a positive and welcoming manner.
  • M ay be responsible for assisting guests at the register by ringing up sales and following cash handling policies and procedures.
  • M ay have responsibility to operate industrial dish washing machine, washing all wares.
  • M ay be responsible to wipe workstations, counters, tables, as well as sweep and mop, and other janitorial duties.
  • R eports feedback to leadership any issues, for example: concerning quality of food, safety hazards, guest concerns and or broken equipment.
  • M ay be the representative of our department by answering patient calls and assisting them with their meal prescription.
  • M ay work on patient tray assembly.
  • M ay deliver supplies or meals to patient floors or rooms.
  • L eaves workstation clean, neat, organized and sanitized.
  • V arying schedule to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours as the business dictates.
  • A ttends training programs (classroom and or virtual) as assigned.
  • C omplies with all company safety prevention and reporting of issues and or concerns, reporting all injuries and accidents in a timely manner.
  • C omplies with all local, state and Federal rules and regulations in health, safety and sanitation, including HACCP policies and procedures.
  • P erform others duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • F SW II D uties of FSW II U nder general supervision, can perform tasks with a sequence of actions of sequence of steps to complete the task, which requires attention to the process of work.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS K nowledge of safe food handling and sanitation to comply with health and safety regulations. K nowledge of basic kitchen equipment operation. S kill in working independently and in a group setting.

S kill in oral and written communication. M INIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION A LL H igh School diploma or GED equivalent. F SW II & III A ssociates Degree in Food Service Management.

Education can be substituted on a year for year basis for relevant experience. M INIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION F SW I N ONE F SW II Two (2) years food service experience or equivalent. F SW III F our (4) years food service experience or equivalent.
