POSITION SUMMARY To provide patient and family focused care as part of the health care team in accordance with Sky Lakes mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures while applying standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. QUALIFICATIONS Required: Basic nursing skills; Must be willing to work varied hours with flexible schedules and every other weekend. Preferred: Basic knowledge of psychosocial concepts and problem-solving skills; Appropriate Emergency Services/Critical Care practice experience (in past three years). Lic/Reg/Cert: Current Oregon RN license. TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS Must have ability to adapt emotional responses to the needs of people of varying temperament and disability. Must be physically able to stoop, bend, reach and frequently lift 50 pounds or more. Continuous walking and/or standing throughout shift required. Must maintain knowledge of and practice safe body mechanics according to Sky Lakes policies. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Maintains an in-depth knowledge of nursing principles, practices, standards and techniques, and applies this knowledge in accordance with Sky Lakes policies and procedures and within laws and regulations governing nursing practice in the State of Oregon. Maintains overall responsibility for patient care in the ED. Functions as a care manager/caregiver by assessing the patient’s condition and nursing needs; demonstrates patients plan of care by setting outcomes; implements appropriate nursing actions to meet the patient’s physical, emotional, spiritual, social and intellectual needs. Promotes healing by maintaining a peaceful, orderly, and clean environment.
