  • Responsibilities Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
  • Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient's needs.
  • Delivers care consistent with physician's orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current Texas RN license.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required within 14 days of hire and before providing direct patient care.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required before end of orientation.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required before end of orientation.
  • NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required before end of orientation.
  • Preferred Job

Requirements

  • One year of emergency nursing experience Two years of acute care nursing experience CEN Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
