Summary

Assumes the primary caretaker role for psychiatric patients ages Pre-K through adolescents which includes activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and the management of harmful behaviors. The Program Specialist II also participates in crisis intervention, teaching, group process and on call as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required preferably in psychology, child development, social work or related field Experience in inpatient or partial hospital psychiatric treatment preferred Pediatric experience preferred Child growth and development education required CPR - BLS within 60 days of start date CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 must be completed within 60 days of start date Minimum requirements changed March Prior employees grandfathered in with at least 2 years of previous inpatient/partial hospital/residential child or adolescent services for each year of college About Us: Cook Children's Medical Center is the cornerstone of Cook Children's, and offers advanced technologies, research and treatments, surgery, rehabilitation and ancillary services all designed to meet children's needs.
