QUALIFICATIONS Required: Completion of a formal Operating Room Technician course and 1 year previous surgical experience; Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Lic/Reg/Cert: Surgery Technician Certification or Oregon LPN license. TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS Medium to heavy physical demands. Knowledge of and efficiently operate all equipment used. Ability to stand within limited area most of the working shift. Ability to stoop frequently; push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Possess excellent eye/hand coordination; work under stress and constant time demands. Ability to work within a controlled traffic pattern. Able to provide quality care on an emergency basis to ensure quality patient care. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Scrub surgical procedures; ability to function on an emergency basis, collaboration with physicians. Assumes Surgical Scrub duties under the direction of the RN, AORN standards: Scrubs, gowns and gloves. Maintains sterile environment at all times during set up and procedure. Sets up table, instruments and supplies according to scheduled operation.
