Integrated Services Center Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) Position Highlights You Belong at Avera Be part of a multidisciplinary team built with compassion and the goal of Moving Health Forward for you and our patients. Work where you matter. A Brief Overview Provides patient care consistent with applicable regulations and the Mission of Avera by monitoring and recommending optimal medication therapy, processing patient medication orders, and providing pharmaceutical information to staff and patients related to specific job assignments.
Must utilize effective problem-solving skills as appropriate and accepts personal responsibility and accountability for the patient's outcomes. Under general supervision, guides and oversees pharmacy services for assigned areas in accordance with professional standards, regulatory and licensing agency policies, and federal and state laws related to the practice of pharmacy. Supervises and provides overall direction for the pharmacy staff to provide effective workflow and operation within assigned areas of responsibility to ensure optimal care delivery for patients and support for healthcare professionals and communities served by Avera.
What you will do Accurately interprets, processes, and monitors medication orders issued by providers for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness. Prepares and dispenses medications for patients of all ages. Provides medication information, counsels patients on the proper usage, desired effects and potential adverse effects of medication.
