Get to Know Your Team: BSA Hospital is a 445-bed hospital serving the Amarillo area for over 120 years and continues to be Amarillo’s preferred healthcare provider. At BSA, the focus is to provide quality healthcare in Christian love, service, and dignity. Responsibilities The Occupational Therapist will assess, plan, and provide rehabilitative and therapeutic services to patients of all ages, focusing on helping individuals achieve greater independence in daily living and work activities, enhancing their overall quality of life. Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities using standardized assessments and clinical observation. Identify barriers to performing activities of daily living (ADLs) and establish goals for therapy. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals. Utilize therapeutic techniques, exercises, and interventions to enhance patients’ functional abilities. Recommend and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic strategies to improve function and maintain progress at home. Provide guidance on adapting home and work environments to meet the patient’s needs. Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Communicate progress and recommendations to physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, speech therapists, educators, and healthcare providers. Participate in case conferences and team meetings to coordinate patient care. Ensure all services comply with professional standards, state and federal regulations, and ethical guidelines. Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment for patients and staff. Qualifications Job Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Texas State licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Preferred Job Requirements Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Experience in acute care rehabilitation. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Familiarity with evidence-based therapy practices. #LI
