Summary

The Occupational Health Nurse LPN provides healthcare support services for job candidates, employees, and contractors to meet and maintain compliance with Onvida Health policy and applicable local, state, and federal laws; delivers care within established protocols and supports workforce members through coordination and education within scope of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical and Primary Care: Uses and documents established nursing protocols in care delivery; Performs focused assessments and collects health information consistent with LPN scope;
  • Provides care and interventions within established guidelines and standing orders; Reinforces education to clients on reduction of risks associated with occupational and environmental health and safety hazards;
  • Maintains accurate, complete record keeping while ensuring confidentiality. Recruitment and Retention: Supports and enhances HR processes by facilitating timely and efficient pre-placement activities for new and returning personnel in accordance with established protocols; Assists with onboarding requirements including immunizations, screenings, and documentation; Promotes services that support employee and volunteer onboarding and retention. Case Management: Supports case management activities by identifying potential needs or gaps and escalating as appropriate; Assists in coordinating care and referrals per protocol;
  • Communicates with clients and others to support continuity of care; Participates in multidisciplinary communication for coordination of services as directed. Workforce, Workplace, and Environmental Issues: Conducts health screenings and surveillance activities; Assists in monitoring the work environment to support employee health and safety; Identifies and reports compliance issues consistent with local, state and federal laws, regulations and standards for workplace health and safety; Participates in employee education to reduce hazards and foster compliance with safe work practices; Supports the Environment of Care as defined by the Safety Committee. Regulatory/Legislative
  • Maintains compliance with laws and regulations governing LPN practice, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, HIPAA and Workers' Compensation through documentation and adherence to established protocols and policies. Health Promotion / Disease Prevention: Supports infectious disease screening programs as mandated by Infection Control; Promotes employee awareness of health issues and choices; Participates in wellness activities and programs. Other duties as assigned. Credentials: Essential: * BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) * LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN) Education: Essential: * HS DIPLOMA/GED

Other Information
