Who We Are Looking For
Kootenai Health is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with experience preferred in dialysis care, internal medicine or medical specialties, but not required, to practice in our outpatient dialysis clinic located in beautiful Coeur d#Alene, Idaho.# Ideal candidates will have a strong focus on quality, safety, teamwork and patient satisfaction and have experience working in a busy, high-acuity hospital. What you can expect: Full-time opportunity rounding on in-center dialysis patients at multiple dialysis units three times monthly to monitor fluid balance, clearance parameters, vascular access management, blood pressure management, electrolyte abnormalities, bone and mineral management, nutrition and anemia management, attendance at treatment, and social barriers to attending treatments. Provide assistance with medication management, including adjustments and refills of dialysis-related medications and reconciliation with Epic.
Writes dialysis orders for short-term travelers and new patients to dialysis. Management of notifications from the dialysis unit regarding missed and shortened treatments, concerning vital signs, and any urgent issues or emergencies requiring EMS or transfer to the hospital. Works in collaboration with and regularly communicates with the attending supervising/collaborating nephrologist(s) in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols and clinical pathways and may provide autonomous team-based care.
