Summary

The NP/PA, Surgical functions in a collaborative practice with physician(s) in the outpatient setting. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Develops and maintains own volume of patients under the supervision of a physician.

Provides practice/clinic/call coverage and may round for physician(s). Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs and prescriptive authority. Day shift role, outpatient, 4 - 10 hour days Education and Experience Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.

Physician Assistants Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Current Texas professional registered nurse license Current Texas professional advanced practice registered nurse license Certified as an RNFA preferred Certified as a Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Current Basic Life Support (CPR) is required. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required.
