• Get to Know Your Team: BSA Harrington Cancer Center is a state-of-the-art, 48,000-square-foot facility with two new linear accelerators for radiation treatments, 24 patient exam rooms, 28 heated chemotherapy infusion chairs, and three private infusion rooms for families.
• Responsibilities A mammography technologist will provide patient services using various imaging modalities, which may include Stereotactic, Contrast Mammography, and DEXA.
• Mammographers are expected to perform screening and diagnostic procedures in a fast-paced environment.
• Need to exercise critical thinking skills, be able to troubleshoot, and be able to manage stress.
• Must be able to work well with others and have effective communication skills.
• Technologists follow the direction of the Breast Center Radiologist and established procedures/protocols.
• Shifts are spent with extensive time on their feet, which includes standing, squatting, and bending.
• When performing exams, the technologist must adhere to all radiation safety precautions.
• Technologists must be available to complete exams at the main facility (HBC), detached facilities, and outreach settings.
• A technologist is responsible for their quality of images, positioning skills, and the basic knowledge of quality control tests.
• Qualifications Job

Requirements

• High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.
• ARRT Certification in Radiological Technology.
• Texas Department of Health Licensure.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Preferred Job

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in screening and diagnostic procedures.
• Experience in performing QC tests.
• Basic knowledge of stereotactic biopsies.
• Associate's Degree or certificate required from a CAHEA-approved Radiological Technology Program.
• Mammography registry.
