Job Description Plans, implements and evaluates nursing care to adult and pediatric patients. Responsible for promoting positive interactions with staff, physicians, patients, families and other visitors. SHIFT AND SCHEDULE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Maintains current knowledge of medications and administers medications in accordance with the hospital policy. Demonstrates positive effective communication, including education with patients and families, physicians and other healthcare team members, and professional communications skills. Demonstrates proficiency in using the electronic medical record providing accurate, timely and complete documentation of plan of care updates and assessments and respect of patient’s rights and confidentiality. Provide a safe environment for patients, families and co-workers, including hand-washing, and adherence to infection control policies. Demonstrate professionalism including current AED’s and other competencies, following dress code policies, participation in orientation of new team members. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Participation in ongoing learning including plans to advance education preferred. Current State of Texas License as a Vocational Nurse PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to: · Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
