Summary

Hours: Flexible around your school schedule; typically 15–20 hours per week This LPN apprenticeship is a collaborative partnership between Altru Health System and Lake Region State College with an August 24th, 2026, start date. Hours: Minimum of 15–20 hours per week Compensation: Starting at $17.50/hour, with pay increases each semester Application Deadline: July 13, 2026 Applicants must be accepted into the Lake Region State College LPN program And must also achieve a minimum TEAS score of 58.7. Must commit to a 3-year full-time employment with Altru after graduation.

The role progresses through apprenticeship levels; each aligned with the knowledge and skills gained through the LRSC academic curriculum. LPN Apprentices perform clinical skills under the direct supervision of an onsite Registered Nurse (RN). As part of the LRSC apprentice program at Altru Health System, applying for the North Dakota Career Builders scholarship program is strongly encouraged prior to the start of the apprentice program.

Essential Job Functions: Assists the registered nurse or other licensed practitioner in the identification of patient needs, priorities of care and goals based on patient's age, ethnic origin, economic status, lifestyle, creed or philosophical beliefs. Contributes to the evaluation of the plan of care by gathering, observing, recording, and communicating patient responses to nursing interventions. Modifies the plan of care in collaboration with licensed practitioner.
