Summary Generates dose distributions accurately and calculates computerized isodose plans for the patient as prescribed by a radiation oncologist and directed by a medical physicist. Job Description Computes radiation dose distributions, generates isodose curves, and documents in the radiation oncology electronic record effectively. May provide direction or assistance with challenging simulation setups or custom treatment devices. Extensive knowledge of radiation, anatomy, normal tissue contouring, medical imaging fusion, and cross-sectional anatomy is required. Consults with and works as a part of a radiation oncology team to deliver individualized treatment. Must be able to perform dosimetry procedures with the department's treatment planning computers and protocols. Will act as a point of contact for the dosimetry staff and assist management in ensuring that all hardware/software, protocols, and standard operating procedures are satisfactory. The lead will work with management to ensure adequate staffing and resources on a daily basis, and direct the distribution of the patient workload within the dosimetry team. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate from an approved American Association of Medical Dosimetrist (AAMD) program, an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology, or of an Accredited School of Radiation Therapy preferred. Minimum of two years’ experience in radiation oncology and completion of dosimetry training and education by a medical physicist also required. Certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) is required. Sanford is an EEO/AA Employer M/F/Disability/Vet.
