Summary
- The Family Medicine Academic Coordinator is responsible for all resident accreditation requirements and monthly Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) reports.
- This position assists with recruitment, orientation, and continuing education of residents.
- The Family Medicine Academic Coordinator facilitates meeting and assists with the overall educational experience.
- Essential Job Functions: Works closely with Residency Program Supervisor, Residency Program Director and faculty physicians as administrative team for the residency program.
- Works as liaison with medical students.
- Creates medical students’ rotation schedules, communicates with school coordinators, and handles onboarding and orientation for rotating medical students.
- Understands and stays up to date with current ACGME and ABFM accreditation requirements.
- Assists with integrating required competencies into residency curriculum.
- Collects and distributes all required monthly reports.
- Maintains database for all residents accreditation requirements, i.e. didactic attendance, rotation and preceptor evaluations for all rotations.
- Coordinates didactics, resident education, and meetings within the residency and maintains records within ACGME requirements.
- Assists with yearly recruitment and orientation of family medicine residents.
- Serves as program coordinator for the Obstetrics Fellowship.
- Organizes recruiting, interviews and onboarding for OB fellows and works closely with the OB Fellowship Program Director for all fellowship requirements.
- Creates and distributes marketing materials and inter-department communication materials.
- Updates materials yearly and maintains communication with department for any updates or changes that occur.
- Acts as member of wellness groups within residency and clinic; organizes annual events, including graduation and residency retreat; and handles social media channels for residency program in coordination with program supervisor and residents.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the residency and department.
