Facility Groundskeeper at Midland Memorial Hospital

Job Description JOB SUMMARY To maintain assigned grounds in a neat and orderly fashion using hand and power landscapingequipment. Responsible for repairs of irrigation system SHIFT & SCHEDULE: Fulltime, Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS · Lawn areas will be mowed, edged, and string trimmed one time per week during the growingseason and as required during the remainder of the year.· Maintain grounds, paths and roadways according to weather and facilities maintenance schedule.· Prunes trees.· Trims Sucker sprout limbs from base to crown as needed.· Examines Trees on a regular basis and inspects for disease and insects and treats as necessary.· Performs fertilization, and weed control as needed.· Prepares soil, plants seed or seedlings, weeds, and removes leaves. Keeps all sidewalks androadways clear.· Performs minor maintenance inside and outside of facilities.· Paints parking lots, curbs and sidewalks.· Conducts litter patrol on a daily basis· Completes work order request in a timely manner.· Maintains all lawn equipment and ensures they are in good running condition.· Maintains hospital vehicles, including managing preventive maintenance (i.e. oil changes, to beperformed by outside vendor) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · High School Diploma or GED. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The individual must be able to: Ø Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff.
