Job Description The primary responsibility of the Room Service Supervisor is to provide the highest quality of customer service to patients at all times. Through pro-active supervision, this position ensures that the room service operations run smoothly, properly, and that outstanding customer service is always served. This position also collects a variety of financial and quality control data for the department. SHIFT AND SCHEDULE Full Time, 40/hrs a Week ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Ensures Room Service Lead and all other room service staff completes all of their duties as described in their respective job descriptions. Ensures nourishment rooms, waiting areas and all other hospital departments are properly stocked. Communicates with clinical managers to establish par levels and ensures the needs of the units are met. Maintains department paperwork for room service line activities and assists Room Services Manager as needed. Trains all new room service staff. Communicates patient complaints to management and assists with complaint resolution and customer satisfaction measures as needed. Works effectively with other department supervisors to ensure quality of patient care. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must have previous supervisory experience in foodservice or health care. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to: Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
