Job Description The primary responsibility of the Lead Room Service Rep is to provide the highest quality of customer service to patients with their meals at all times. This position performs a variety of duties related to the orderly operation of the room service program and efficient delivery of patient meals while adhering to HACCP and other regulatory agency policies. The Lead Room Service Rep is responsible for supervising room service representatives, expeditors, floor stocker, and dish room attendants. It is expected that an individual in this position takes complete ownership of tray line to ensure meals are presentable and accurate, patients are satisfied, and problems are reported and resolved in a timely manner. SHIFT AND SCHEDULE Full Time, 11:30am-8:00pm ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Supervises all Room Service Representatives, Expediters, Floor Stocker, and Dish Room Attendants’ activities as outlined in the respective job descriptions of these positions. Communicates effectively with all employees to ensure quality patient meals and to help resolve problems. In addition, communicates effectively to all patients and their family members/guests. Maintains records for financial and quality control monitors. Takes temperatures of food items, completes paperwork for tray counts, conducts tray accuracy and other audits, conducts test trays, conducts meal rounds, etc. Holds pre-service meetings with the room service team as needed. Reports any discrepancies to room service supervisor in a timely manner. Ensures that tray tickets begin printing on time and that trays are made in a timely and efficient manner. Ensures the timely delivery of patient meals. Assists with training of all room service employees and has knowledge of all diets. Documents incidents and reports them to room service supervisor in a timely manner. Maintains consistent adherence in following department and hospital policies and procedures. Supervises and corrects employees not adhering to department and hospital policies and procedures. Exemplifies leadership skills by working well with others and setting a good example for other employees. Assists Room Service Supervisor with projects as needed. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Previous supervisor experience, preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to: Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
