As a Progressive Care (Acute Care Step-down) Registered Nurse at Presbyterian Hospital, you'll coordinate nursing care – including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care.   • Progressive Care units include Acute Medical Step-Down, Cardiac Step-Down, and Neuro Step-Down.
  • In Progressive Care, there are opportunities for RNs to gain leadership experience through Preceptor, Clinical Practice Leader, Relief Charge and Quality Improvement roles.

  • Acute Medical Step-Down: The Acute Medical Step-Down unit at Presbyterian Hospital provides care for high acuity patients within a culture that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and mutual respect.
  • Cardiac Step-Down: Cardiac ICU Step Down is comprised of 2 units totaling 50 beds. This unit provides patient-focused, specialized care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring for various Cardiovascular disorders, including Cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure . Patients recovering from myocardial infarction, coronary intervention, and electrophysiology procedures are also cared for on this unit. The Cardiac Progressive Units provide quality care through a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach. We strive to provide the best professional patient care during our patients’ stay, followed by personalized discharge planning to meet outpatient needs. Neuro Step-Down Units: The Neuro Step Down Unit is a dedicated team of high-performing nurses providing exceptional patient care within the 29-bed unit. This unit is highly specialized neurology Step-Down, dedicated to the special care required for patients who are recovering from neurosurgery , or neurological injuries – to include psych patients. Joint Commission-Accredited Primary Step-Down. How you thrive matters here. Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or above required. *Degree from accredited academic nursing program preferred Registered Nurse-NM *State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire.
