The Magnet Director is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and overseeing the overall Magnet Recognition Program and the Magnet designation/re-designation process and related programs. Serves as the Magnet advisor to the Leadership and staff in executing the Magnet initiatives. Is responsible for submitting applications, interim monitoring reports, and all Magnet documents. Develops and implements organizational strategies and infrastructure to support clinical quality, operational effectiveness, and shared governance. Acts as a liaison with all departments within the organization to promote nursing excellence and to further the Magnet philosophy. Education and Experience MSN required, 5 years experience in management or managing large scale projects Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships High Physical Capabilities Work is of medium demand; walking, sitting and standing most of the time while on duty. Adequate hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills required. Talking and hearing is essential. Near visual acuity required to work with charts, records, and computers. Skills and Abilities Current knowledge of regulatory standards. Evidence of excellent interpersonal relationships, communication skills, and skills as a leader and facilitator for process improvement and redesign teams. Demonstrates ability to work with diverse groups and multiple disciplines, and excellent public speaker and writer. Must demonstrate a working knowledge of leadership and management skills. Job Description Required Licensures / Certifications / Registrations Current RN licensure from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners or compact eligible.
