Hours of Work : 8:00a - 5:00p Days Of Week : Monday - Friday Work Shift : Job Description : Job Purpose The Patient Safety Specialist assists the Manager of Patient Safety and Risk Management in the coordination of the Patient Safety and Risk Management program necessary to Methodist Health System (MHS) strategic goal of becoming a High Reliability Organization (HRO). Responsibilities include but are not limited to: supporting a facility on a day-to-day basis through program coordination; investigating, analyzing, and trending patient safety events and data complying with licensing, accrediting, and regulatory obligations with the objectives of enhancing patient, visitor, and employee safety; and protecting the assets of the organization Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field. Licenses and/or Certifications: If licensed, must be able to practice in the state of Texas. Certified in Patient Safety (CPPS) or equivalent or obtained within 18 months of hire. Work Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in Patient Safety, Quality, and/or Risk Management preferred Methodist Charlton Medical Center is a 314-bed, full-service, acute care teaching hospital that serves Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and Lancaster in southwestern Dallas County. In addition to the new 40,000-square-foot expansion of the emergency department, we offer a newly renovated intensive care unit, labor and delivery unit, and interventional radiology suite; a Level III Trauma Center, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and the Dr. Stephen and Marilyn Mansfield Oncology Unit.
