Summary

Schedule/Hours: 36 hours per week, Day/Night rotation (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am), and every other weekend. The Paramedic responds to all emergency calls, keeping patients and family members informed, while following all standard protocols. The Paramedic demonstrates safe driving habits in emergency and non-emergency situations and helps maintain equipment and vehicles. -------- Paramedic I Salary Range: $26.48 - $39.72 USD Hourly -------- Paramedic II Salary Range: $27.80 - $41.71 USD Hourly Qualification/Education: 6 years or more Paramedic experience with associate’s degree and advanced certification OR, 3 years or more Paramedic experience with bachelor’s degree -------- Paramedic III Salary Range: $29.19 - $43.79 USD Hourly Qualification/Education: 12 years or more Paramedic experience with Associates and/or Advanced Certification (FP-C, CC-P, CP-C) OR, 6 years or more Paramedic experience with bachelor’s degree Notes for Paramedic II & III Eligible to serve as a Pre-Hospital Care Coordinator, Orientation Preceptor and Onboarding Coordinator for new staff.

  • Provides coverage for various special functions throughout the Grand Forks community and surrounding areas, i.e., races, sporting events, city sponsored events. Performs and documents assessments according guidelines and/or as patient condition requires, i.e., vital signs, intake and output, IV’s, blood sugars, room/caregiver assignment, etc. and ensures patient is properly identified. Works in the Emergency Room assisting the RNs with triage and critical patient care. Identifies patient/patient’s family needs, documents and plans in order to meet those needs, i.e., counseling, etc. Works as a cohesive team with First Responders. Creates a smooth transition of care.
  • Provides feedback and follow-up to First Responders as necessary. Transports patients to all internal departments at Altru, as well as to Fargo, Minneapolis, and Rochester and is a member of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) transport team. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
