Job Summary Medical Couriers are responsible for the transportation of medical items to/from labs, hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or the on-campus transportation of UMC guests. Reports to: Manager of Courier Services Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: • Responsible for transporting labs, deposits, mail, supplies, equipment, linens, medications, and paperwork to and from the hospital, local labs, or any other partnering facilities • Driving the UMC campus shuttle, or golf cart, and transporting patients, employees or visitors from one site on the campus, to another site on campus • Logging vehicle mileage and maintenance information in the company logbook • All other assigned duties related to UMC Courier Education and Experience • High School Diploma or GED Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations • Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record Skills and Abilities • Effective written and verbal communication • The ability to drive a commercial vehicle safely • Able to handle physical exertion and movement Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships This position will interact with clinic staff, patients and their family members, health care providers, UMC guests, students, volunteers, and fellow employees Physical Capabilities Work requires driving, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
