# The Medical Assistant#assists the physician and mid-level practitioners in providing quality care as delegated. Under general supervision in an outpatient clinical setting, provides initial patient triage, registration, and administrative services.# Assists with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol. #
Qualifications
- # ########### A.####### Education: # High School graduate or equivalent.## Must have certificate of completion from an accredited medical assistant program. # ########### B.####### Training and Experience: # Minimum of six months experience working as a MA preferred; One year of experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.# Bilingual abilities desirable but, not mandatory.# Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required through the American Heart Association within ninety (90) days of hire or transferred to department. # Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions: # A.
- Must be able to work under stressful conditions. # B.
- Potential exposure to hazardous substances, cytotoxic agents and disease. # C.
- May have varied work hours. # D.
- Heavy lifting, 1-1 or assisted patient lifting or lifting objects on a daily basis # E.
