Position Summary

Gives practical nursing care to patients and provides guidance to Nursing Assistants and Medical Assistants. Works in compliance and in accordance with clinical and nursing standards. In addition to the skills required of all LVNs, special skills related to nursing in the clinic environment are required. #

Qualifications

  • A. Education
  • Holds a current Texas permit or license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Page 3 of 3 B. Training and Experience: 1.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department. 2. Minimum of six (6) months# experience working as an LVN preferred 3. One (1) year of experience in a clinical setting preferred. 4. Bilingual abilities are desirable but not mandatory. VI. Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions: 1.
  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. 2.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. 3.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal ranges. 4. Occasionally lifts and carries up to 25 pounds. 5.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours. 6. Possible exposure to patients with infectious diseases. #
