South University Clinic Department: 3021020 ENDOCRINOLOGY - SU Job Description: Essentia Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Medical Assistant, or Clinic Care Technician to serve in our endocrinology practice at South University Clinic in Fargo, North Dakota. This LPN, CMA, or CCT works 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. No weekend, holiday, or on-call rotations are required.

  • Will perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
  • Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category.
  • Clinic Care Technician ($15.96-$23.94 based on experience): The Clinic Care Technician is primarily responsible for providing assistance with daily patient flow in the clinic setting.
  • These duties may include greeting and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in patient chart, stocking, and cleaning exam room, ordering and maintaining clinic supplies, assisting with clerical duties, and all other duties as assigned.
  • This position may float to support other areas as assigned.
  • Key responsibilities include: Supports and assists providers and clinical staff with administrative and select patient care tasks Supports patient scheduling and work queue needs as assigned Follows up on no-shows and works with providers to review and approve add-ons Greets patients, supports virtual visits, completes identification verification, height, weight and obtains vitals Chaperones exams as needed Administers questionnaires and documents in electronic medical record May perform limited patient care tasks based on training Employees scheduled 24+ hours weekly enjoy these

Qualifications

  • LPN: A North Dakota LPN license is required upon hire.
  • LPN: A Minnesota LPN license is required within 3 months of hire.
  • CMA: Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified within one year of date of hire.
  • Must pass certification within two attempts.
  • CMA: Must be registered as a Medication Assistant III through the North Dakota Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire/transfer.
  • Clinical Assistant can NOT administer medication prior to being registered as a MAIII through the ND BON.
  • LPN/CMA: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required within 3 months of hire.
  • CCT: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • CCT: Experience in healthcare, patient care, electronic medical records (EMR), and/or medical terminology is preferred.
