Job Summary The Lead Radiologic Technologist collaborates with Radiology leadership to supervise, train, and assess the competency of technical and support staff while fostering a culture of safety, both physically and psychologically, for patients and staff. Reports to: Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: • Oversee and support technologists and clinical staff to maintain high-quality work. • Coordinate department workflow to ensure timely completion of tasks. • Perform daily departmental functions and contribute to department management. • Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures and ensure high-quality images for patients of all ages, ensuring proper positioning and exposure. • Administer contrast media in accordance with established procedures. • Ensure compliance with quality standards for imaging and equipment • Monitor equipment and inventory, reporting issues and maintaining supply levels • Ensure accurate patient records and efficient use of the image archiving system • Assist with job-related duties and support the team. Education and Experience • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent qualifications for Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist certification • +1 year of supervisory experience, leading people and/or processes Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations N/A Skills and Abilities • Ability to train and mentor others • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing • High degree of patience and compassion; Able to prioritize patient comfort and safety during procedures, adhering to radiation safety protocols Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships This position requires interaction with hospital ancillary departments, nursing units, and administration in the daily operation of the Radiology department Physical Capabilities Work requires extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Visual and auditory acuity required. Work is stressful and has emotional demands, at times Environmental/Working Conditions This position is subject to inside environmental changes that may include constant change in indoor temperatures.
