Job Summary The Echo Sonographer performs a variety of routine echocardiograms including, but not limited to, Transthoracic Echocardiogram or TTE, with Color, Spectral Doppler and 2-D imaging, Transesophageal Echocardiogram TEE, Stress Echocardiogram or Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram, TTE with bubbles, TTE with contrast and advanced TTE such as TTE with 3D imaging, for both inpatient and outpatient studies. Locates, evaluates and records pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data while using different systems of ultrasound equipment. Transmits exams, processes preliminary technical data in designated interpreting system, and communicates any significant findings to the attending reading physician. The Vascular Sonographer performs ultrasound examinations of the cerebral, peripheral, and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders affecting circulation, Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results. # Qualifications Education Echo Vascular Tech I Required High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Preferred Completion of an accredited Echo or Vascular program Echo Vascular Tech II Required High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Completion of an accredited Echo or Vascular program Experience: Echo Vascular Tech I Required One year of experience in Echo or Vascular Echo Vascular Tech II Required One year of experience in Echo or Vascular # Certification/Licensure: Echo Vascular Tech I Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date Preferred American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) Certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing Internation (CCI) Echo Vascular Tech II Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) Certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
