Summary
Join the culinary team at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico, where you’ll help create fresh, high‑quality meals that support exceptional patient and guest experiences. In this role, you’ll prepare hot food items for all service areas, assist with cold prep, Grab‑and‑Go selections, and bulk production, and ensure ingredients are prepped and ready for upcoming menu cycles. Responsibilities
- The Cook assists in preparing hot food items for the following day according to the established menu cycle.
- This role includes fruit and vegetable preparation, portioning, and other bulk food production, as well as helping create Grab‑and‑Go and other retail food items.
- Responsibilities also include routine cleaning and sanitation of all work areas and supporting food service by serving items as directed by workflow.
- The Cook must demonstrate strong knowledge of food‑service safety practices, temperature control, and proper knife skills, and must be able to follow recipes for both cooking and baking.
- A general understanding of diet orders—and where to locate that information—is essential.
- Additional duties include delivering trays to patients, operating a cash register to provide courteous and efficient checkout service to visitors, and performing tasks such as putting away orders, dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash.
Qualifications
- High School/GED One to three years experience in quantity food preparation. Six months high volume preparation and cooking in a hotel, restaurant, cafeteria, catering firm, government, or private institution preferable All
