Responsibilities

• The Cook assists in preparing hot food items for the following day according to the established menu cycle.
• This role includes fruit and vegetable preparation, portioning, and other bulk food production, as well as helping create Grab‑and‑Go and other retail food items.
• Responsibilities also include routine cleaning and sanitation of all work areas and supporting food service by serving items as directed by workflow.
• The Cook must demonstrate strong knowledge of food‑service safety practices, temperature control, and proper knife skills, and must be able to follow recipes for both cooking and baking.
• A general understanding of diet orders—and where to locate that information—is essential.
• Additional duties include delivering trays to patients, operating a cash register to provide courteous and efficient checkout service to visitors, and performing tasks such as putting away orders, dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash.

Qualifications

• High School/GED One to three years experience in quantity food preparation. Six months high volume preparation and cooking in a hotel, restaurant, cafeteria, catering firm, government, or private institution preferable All
