Position Summary: Functions as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) under the guidance and supervision of an experienced Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). Performs routine patient care to the victim/suspect and carries out established nursing procedures for collection of evidence and appropriate chain of custody. Education: 1. Hold a current license as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred. B. Training and Experience: 1. Current BLS. 2. One year of RN experience in acute care setting, pediatrics, and/or women#s health preferred. 3. Completion and Certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner within 18 months of hire through the Office of the Attorney General. 4. Currently In good standing with the Board of Nurse Examiners. Must be in good standing with the Office of the Attorney General within 18 months of hire or transfer to department. 5. Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) within 12 months of hire preferred.# Recommended and preferred for training but not required for continued employment as SANE RN.
