Summary

Provide assistance to Office Manager and coordinate daily operations. This description is not intended to be a complete list of duties. Other related duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and other related criteria appropriate population in his/her assigned area Maintains required core competencies.
  • Complies with set Policies and Procedures (i.e. name tag, dress code, parking, smoking, etc.) Must be understanding, courteous and professional at all times in contacts with patients, visitors, employees, and medical staff.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Liaison between medical professionals and patients.
  • Answer telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner with minimum rings.
  • Route phone calls and handle enquires efficiently and courtesy.
  • Receive and convey message in writing and verbally.
  • Receive requests for recur medication.
  • Welcome patients and visitors in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Monitor patient flow in treatment room.
  • Answer non-medical questions for patients.
  • Organize and manage patient records and date efficiently using computer software.
  • Monitor and maintain supplies and forms.
  • Maintain supply of snacks, juices and paper items for food consumption.
  • Coordinate provider appointments and treatment room availability.
  • Optimize patient satisfaction by scheduling service delivery within their preferences.
  • File and fax documents Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of information.
  • Comfort patients by anticipating their anxieties and respecting their grief process.

Requirements

  • Education High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience Experience coding in outpatient and office procedures.
  • Must have experience in working in a physician's office and have previous experience with insurance billing including but not limited to coding, billing and scheduling.
  • Ability to communicate well in a caring/supportive manner with individuals and families.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and keyboard skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately.
  • Should have good computer knowledge.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Must be able to organize medical office.
  • Handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with patients and doctors.
  • Be flexible ensuring proper patient care.
  • Performs related responsibilities as assigned.
  • Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Current American Heart — Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
