Case Manager II # Position Summary Conducts initial assessments of patients to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. # Responsibilities May assign patients to mental health practitioners based on intake assessments Performs utilization reviews in accordance with the hospital#s UR plan to ensure adherence to federal regulations Coordinates discharge planning for the Behavioral Health Unit Provides clinical supervision to staff working towards licensure Performs a variety of tasks Leads and directs the work of others A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required Typically reports to the head of a unit/department Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned # Requirements and Minimum Qualifications Master#s degree in social work or counseling or related field (i.e. Psychology) required LCSW/LCPC Idaho state license required; current license in another state as a LCSW/LCPC or equivalent acceptable with license in the State of Idaho required within one year of hire 3 years of fulltime psychological experience in social work assessment format, treatment planning and crisis intervention required Certified to provide supervision to therapists seeking State of Idaho licensure Crisis prevention training, or must acquire within 6 months of employment, required BLS required # Working Conditions Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position Typical equipment used in a clinical and office job Repetitive movements Must be able to lift and move up to 35lbs # About Kootenai Health: Kootenai Health is a highly esteemed healthcare organization serving patients throughout northern Idaho and the Inland Northwest.
