The Cardiac Rehab RN is responsible for providing monitoring and educational services to assist patients in reaching maximum performance for patients who have experienced an MI, Coronary Surgery, stable Angina and/or other specific cardiopulmonary conditions. Essential Job Functions • Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance. • Conducts nursing assessment utilizing a patient centered approach. • Develops exercise prescriptions, rehabilitation plans and behavior modification programs within accepted standards of care. • Prepares, administers and charts emergency medication and treatment and notifies the patients’ Physician of the arrhythmias or emergency events as soon as possible. • Completes clinical records and forms to ensure continuity and quality of patient care • Identifies abnormal diagnostic data and treats per standing orders and policies and procedures. • Involves the client and their family in developing goal setting with regards to integrating the medical care plan, setting realistic short-term and long-term goals, plans client care and education with other members of the health care team, reviews and up-dates exercise prescriptions and goal setting per established policies and procedures. • Evaluates rehabilitation plan through assessment of patient outcomes, exercise sessions, exercise tests and documentation in the client’s medical records. • Initiates appropriate discharge referrals and/or advancement through various programs. • Utilizes effective interviewing skills to elicit information from patient and family that is necessary for the nursing process. • Interacts effectively with other team members to keep them informed of changes in the client’s condition and/or rehabilitation plan. • Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
