Summary: Working under general direction, manages staff of support and professional employees to provide business service support in areas such as finance, purchasing, compliance, and data management including report development and measurements. May also manage ad hoc and ongoing projects related to business process improvement. Responsibilities: Manages assigned staff of non-exempt and exempt staff members to ensure that department deliverables are accomplished quickly and accurately. Manages staff to provide assigned business unit with business support functions such as finance, purchasing, compliance, and data management including report development and measurements. May lead effort to provide assigned business unit with program measures data support and analysis. Serves on assigned committees and management teams as productive member, contributing within area of expertise. Provide specialized services within assigned business unit such as: Coordinates data management testing support and feedback and manage contracted vendor relationships for new software and database applications; Manages grant effort workload to ensure that business unit grant needs and grant requirements are met; Develops data management systems and grants administration training plans and coordinate or deliver office-wide training. Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to assigned staff. Develops goals and priorities in conjunction with employees, and assigns tasks and projects. Develops staff skills and training plans. Counsels, trains, and coaches subordinate staff. Implements corrective actions and conducts performance evaluations. Maintains the confidentiality of patient records and procedures. Develops, manages and monitors project budgets and contracts. Completes internal and external written and oral reports professionally and in a timely manner. Coordinates with other ANTHC finance and support departments to insure timely and accurate reporting. Performs other duties as assigned. Other information: KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS · Knowledge of statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances, codes, administrative orders and other operational guidelines and directives applicable to function supervised. · Knowledge of the principles and practices of cost accounting, budgeting and strategic planning. Knowledge of complex relational databases. · Knowledge of basic purchasing principles. · Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. · Skill in developing medium-scale projects and experience in organizing and facilitating groups with divergent and conflicting interests. · Skill in effectively managing professional employees. · Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands. · Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, contractors, and representatives from other local, state and Federal organizations. · Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications. Skill in verbal and written communication. · Skill in addressing sensitive issues and situations. · Skill in advising leaders of complex organizational units. M INIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Systems Management, or other business related discipline. Progressively responsible professional/exempt work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION Non-supervisory - Eight (8) years professional work experience in finance, data management, procurement, or other discipline supporting the functions of the depart supported by this position. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience. AND Supervisory - One (1) year of work experience involving employee supervision. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for supervision experience.
