Employment eligibility from specific states will be reviewed and may require prior approval. Alternatively, candidates have the option to work onsite at our Yuma, AZ location.

Summary

The Azure Data Solution Architect is highly skilled and motivated with expertise in healthcare data and Azure cloud technologies to lead our Azure cloud architecture and data management initiatives. This role oversees the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of healthcare data warehousing solutions to support health system and clinic operations, financial and strategic decision-making, value-based care, and population health management. The Azure Data Solution Architect will guide strategic data architecture decisions leveraging Azure platforms, including Synapse, Data Factory, and Databricks, to meet business and clinical objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, efficient healthcare data warehousing solutions on Azure, ensuring data availability, accuracy, and integrity for operational, clinical, financial, and population health analytics.
  • Develop and maintain the enterprise healthcare data architecture roadmap aligned with business goals, industry standards, and emerging Azure technologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define healthcare data requirements and integrate data from sources including EHRs, claims, and operational systems.
  • Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and related technologies for efficient data transformation and loading.
  • Leverage Azure Databricks for advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning to generate actionable insights for clinical, operational, and financial decision-making.
  • Support the development of data products and dashboards for population health management, value-based care, and operational performance.
  • Define healthcare data standards, best practices, and guidelines for modeling, integration, and transformation within the Azure environment.
  • Lead governance initiatives, including data quality assurance, metadata management, and data lineage documentation.
  • Evaluate and select Azure-based data warehousing and analytics technologies to meet organizational needs.
  • Continuously optimize the Azure cloud platform for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Partner with IT and security teams to ensure healthcare data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA) within Azure cloud solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally with clinicians, operational teams, IT, and executives to understand data needs and deliver solutions that drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders to facilitate adoption and alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field. 10+ years of experience designing and implementing large-scale healthcare data warehousing solutions on Azure.
