Job Purpose
- In this highly visible, fast-paced, and challenging position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team member to provide the very best care for our patients. The Trauma Registrar maintains a data base unique to the trauma population. This can include identification, collection, coding, scoring and entering of data into the trauma registry data base as well as performing follow-up for the purposes of incidence, treatment and outcomes, performance improvement, administrative planning and marketing, support programs, and research activities.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent, Required
Licenses and/or Certifications:
- Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) within one year of employment for experienced registrars and three years of employment for new registrars, Required
- Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) Certification or Abbreviated Injury Scaling (AAAM) Course Completion, PreferredFor campuses going through American College of Surgeons verification, CAISS certification is required for a designated staff member to meet verification standards. The department will assign this responsibility based on qualifications.
Work Experience:
- 2 years of trauma registry experience at a Level I trauma facility, Preferred
