A Brief Overview
Provides an opportunity to obtain training, develop skills and gain experience in research that will prepare an individual for future educational endeavors. Under specific direction, assists research investigators by performing basic research and experimentation following established study protocols. Basic level knowledge of research processes is required, as well as time management and organizational skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. Works under close supervision of one or more senior researchers. This position will have direct interaction with research participants, including children. This is a time bound position, with employment expected to last for one year.
What you will do
- In direct collaboration with a mentor, assist with research projects as directed, including participation in meetings, documentation and development of project deliverables and summaries of project information and results
- Read and summarize current literature to support current and future research within the organization.
- Collaborate with members of the scientific team on manuscript preparation.
- Under the guidance of a mentor, assist with the conduct of research including: interaction with study participants, data collection and management, regulatory requirements, specimen processing, equipment set-up and maintenance.
- Perform generalized clerical duties such as printing reports/protocols, making copies of documents, and completing research documents.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Bachelor's health or social sciences related field
- To be eligible, can't be more than 12 months post-graduation
