Department Details We are seeking a compassionate, highly organized Registered Nurse to join our outpatient team as a Clinical Care Leader supporting Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) services. This unique nursing role provides specialized care to patients undergoing scheduled ECT treatments and serves as a key liaison between patients, families, psychiatrists, anesthesia providers, and the multidisciplinary care team. Schedule • 36 hours per week • Four 9-hour shifts per week • Approximate start time: 6:30 a.m. • Monday through Friday treatment schedule • Varied weekday off • Flexibility to occasionally work off-hours and weekends to support urgent inpatient ECT treatments • No on call hours. Position Responsibilities • Coordinate and facilitate outpatient ECT treatments. • Provide preoperative and postoperative nursing care for patients undergoing ECT. • Perform patient assessments, education, and discharge planning. • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, anesthesia providers, and other members of the care team to ensure safe, efficient treatment delivery. • Monitor patients throughout the treatment process and respond to clinical needs. • Serve as a clinical resource and advocate for patients and families throughout their treatment journey. Qualifications • Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills. • Ability to work independently while coordinating care across multiple disciplines. • Preferred procedural or behavioral health experience. Summary The Registered Nurse in the Clinical Care Leader (CCL) role facilitates health care services for patients in outpatient settings in cooperation with the health care team. Demonstrates strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills to analyze data and appropriately respond to changing situations. Effective communication skills to collaborate, negotiate, and resolve conflicts, situations, and/or issues with peers, inter-professional colleagues, patients and families. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, clinical support staff and the public. Serves as a mentor to staff while assisting in facilitating the over-all outpatient activities. Participates and may serve in leadership roles on department/organizational tasks forces and committees. Job Description Responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients. Responsible for the coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions. Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned outpatient clinical setting. Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure. The Sanford Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications and care provided in compliance with applicable standards/regulations. Utilizes technology to enhance quality patient care, to collaborate with physicians and inter-professional team members, and effectively delegates to and supervise unlicensed personnel, assume overall nursing accountability for patient care. Assists in conducting new staff training and orientation regarding operating rules and working standards. Supports and assists in the implementation of established performance improvement policies and trains employees on these policies. Accountable to follow up with risk management and training of clinical staff as needed. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Learns new concepts, processes and tools related to own personal development and education. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred in Fargo, Fargo Network, Bemidji, Sioux Falls Network and Rapid City. Required in Bismarck and Sioux Falls (Sanford USD Medical Center and Clinics). Graduate from an accredited nursing program, including, but not limited to, those accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Minimum of two years’ clinical experience preferred. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
