Redfield Community Memorial Hospital and Clinic is seeking a qualified individual to join our team!

Position Highlights

Job Summary:

• Operate and routine maintenance on washing and drying equipment
• Gather soiled linens and distribute clean linens to appropriate closets
• Weigh, wash, dry, and fold both contaminated and normal linens
• Order and maintain sufficient supply of linens
• Weigh linens according to departments and maintain records
• Minor sewing and patching as necessary
• Maintain laundry area in a clean and safe manner
• Maintain confidentiality, HIPPA requirements, and policy and procedures
• Other duties as required to operate a safe, efficient laundry department

Essential Job Functions:

• Self-motivated, being able to work alone most days
• Follow and comply with policies and procedures
• Spend time standing during folding linens and other operations
• Do minor maintenance such as cleaning lint traps
• Attend staff meetings, in-service’s, and training as required
• Understand sepsis and techniques to avoid infection of patients and self
• Patience and tact with patients, families, and fellow employees
• Complete the tasks necessary in laundry even though some may be unpleasant

Essential Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend and twist as necessary for loading machines and folding

Work Environment:

• Working alone most days in a large, well lit area
• Monday-Friday with some short weekend days possible on high census
• Working with some contaminated linens and must use proper procedures to avoid infecting or contaminating self, others, or equipment
