Overview
Overview NaphCare is hiring a Lab Tech Phlebotomist to join team of medical professionals in the Arizona Department of Corrections - Yuma and Yuma, AZ. As a Lab Tech Phlebotomist, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the patients. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex needs.
New grads are encouraged to apply - we'll train you in the exciting field of correctional healthcare! Responsibilities The Lab Tech Phlebotomist collects blood and other specimens from patients for laboratory testing, ensuring accurate patient identification, sample labeling, and proper handling to maintain specimen integrity. Duties and responsibilities may include and are not limited to: Performs venipuncture and finger sticks on patients, adhering to safety protocols.
Labels specimens accurately, processes them for testing, and operates centrifuges. Verifies patient identity, explains procedures to reduce anxiety, and ensures patient comfort. Cleans and sterilizes equipment, restocks supplies, and manages hazardous waste according to OSHA/CLIA standards.
