Your Role:

General purpose is to review and reconcile charges of all emergency department visits/encounters.  In detail, a daily report in EPIC is used to pull all ED visits from the prior day.  From the EPIC report, the charge reviewer is responsible for completing an individual medical record review on all Emergency visits and confirming all charges are accurate and in accordance with revenue policies.  The daily objective is to complete the previous day’s accounts.  Emails are sent out to nursing staff with discrepancies to reconcile any differences, ensuring optimal charge capture.

Your Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required and some college preferred.
    • Six months prior experience preferably in an Emergency room with history of ED charge capture experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of ED charge capture rules and regulations preferred.
    • Prior work history with EPIC preferred.
    • Experience as a Clinical Secretary with medical terminology required.  
    • Six months prior experience preferably as a Clinical Secretary with medical terminology required. 
    • Must be well organized in their work.
