Early Childhood Teacher

Early Childhood Teacher Status: Full Time/Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Children's Center __________________________________________________________________________________________ Purpose and Scope of Position This position is responsible for the planning, organizing and execution of all classroom activities at the Beartooth Children's Center. The Early Childhood Teacher maintains a safe, healthy, and stimulating learning environment, and provides constant supervision of children during all indoor and outdoor activities. The Early Childhood Teacher responds to the needs of individual children, works cooperatively with all other staff members, and child families, and familiarizes themselves with basic concepts of child development and developmentally appropriate practices as established by the National Association for the Education of young children and/or follow the State of Montana License/Caregiver requirements. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Job Requirements Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to obtain Infant/child and adult CPR and First Aide Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered Preferred Qualifications CDA (Child Development Associate) or higher (AA or BA) or two years of full time work experience in a licensed child care facility, preferred 3. Special Requirements Must be able to reason independently and work with minimal guidance. Must be able to interpret data and make sound judgments based on those interpretations. Must deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise. Must be able to adapt to quickly changing priorities and schedules.
