Certified Nursing Assistant - Acute Care/ED Status: Part Time – Non-Exempt Reports to: Acute Care/ED Manager __________________________________________________________________________________________ Purpose and Scope of Position Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provides clerical support for the assigned unit. In doing so, transcribes physician orders, assembles and maintains patient charts, answers telephone and intercom calls, provides routine approved information and relays other calls and messages. Appropriately interacts with patients/residents, family and staff. Supports unit activities that are essential to the smooth functioning of the patient care area. Under general supervision of the Licensed Nurse, assists in the delivery of patient care. Works collaboratively with the Physician, RN and the LPN to meet the physical, psychosocial, educational and spiritual needs of the patients and families. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Job Requirements Required Qualifications • High school graduate or equivalent, preferred • Formal nurse aide training • Current Montana License as a Certified Nursing Assistant, or ability to receive in 90 days • Healthcare provider CPR Certification, or ability to receive in 90 days Preferred Qualifications • Six months CNA experience in performing patient care in a health care institution, preferred • Completion of Medical Terminology Course, preferred Managerial Experience • N/A Special Requirements • Must be able to reason independently and work with minimal guidance. • Must be able to interpret data and make sound judgments based on those interpretations. • Must deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise. • Must be able to adapt to quickly changing priorities and schedules. • Must be able to maintain good working relationships with all co-workers and the general public and use good judgment in recognizing scope and authority.
